THIS PAST SUMMER’S ACTIVITIES
Trailcraft 123 had an exciting summer of events, we started off the summer with our yearly canoe paddle making class. Each Scout got the opportunity to create his own wooden paddle using hand planners and hand files. We opened the scout house every Tuesday and Thursday for the scouts to work on their paddles. Mr. Longstreet and Mr. Hostetler were there to guide and answer any questions the Scouts may have had.
Next we had our Sea Base Adventure, this was an amazing trip to the beautiful island of St. Thomas USVI. We spent 6 days on a 43 ft mono haul sailboat and learned the art of sailing by an experienced Cpt and 1st mate.
Then we were off to summer camp, Mr. Witters planned an epic adventure to Rainey Mountain Ga. for a week of merit badges, hiking, tubing and fun. The boys came back with some great memories and stories to tell.
We finished up the summer putting the final touches on our paddles and a couple pool parties. If you missed our summer events, please come by the scout house on our scheduled meeting nights and see what we are doing. There is more amazing trips, camp-outs and adventures planned during the school year.
